In Honor of Father's Day...

"I want my unborn son to be like my daddy
I want my husband to be like my daddy
There is no one else like my daddy" -Beyonce, "Daddy

As I sit here and type this blog entry in honor of Father's Day, I can't help but think about my own non-exsistent relationship with my father. However, I've been blessed with an amazing father figure and through him, I know the love between a girl and her daddy. In honor of Father's Day fastly approaching this Sunday, the Babbling Bee's want to pay homage to some of the best dads and father figures on television.

Heathcliff Huxtable, The Cosby Show

Bill Cosby as Cliff Huxtable was THE EPITOME of a great dad. He was the coolest dad on television but his laid back persona was not to be toyed with. While he was always calm and comedic, he gave his children well-rounded advice, support, and love. He was a great husband and the ultimate family man.

Frank Mitchell, Moesha

Frank Mitchell was the overbearing, overprotective father of Moesha and Myles Mitchell. While his overbearing and overprotective style of parenting was a bit much at times, you could tell it was always from the heart. Not only was he a father to his own children, he was also the surrogate to Moesha's best friend and next door neighbor, Hakeem. A father is supposed to protect his children and there was no lengths Frank wouldn't go to for his kids.

Eric Camden, 7th Heaven

TV's preacher dad, Eric Camden was the All-American Dad. He ran his home the same way he ran his ministry; with faith, love and patience. Being a parent is a hard task for anyone to take on but Eric made it seem like a walk in the park.

Michael Kyle, My Wife and Kids

Funny man, Damon Wayans played Michael Kyle on TV's "My Wife and Kids." His parenting style was very unique in the way that he always added comedy to the lessons he taught his family. Michael had a full-time load with his wife, three kids, work and their extended family which consisted of his kids' friends and his employees but the family itself never lacked love and attention. He made sure to make time for his family and he always gave his support.

NOTE: There are several other great TV dads but to keep this post semi-short, we only chose four. Just because we didn't list Ray Campbell, Carl Winslow and the like does not mean we did not love them.
