Rest in Paradise: Michael Clarke Duncan

I swear, writing these posts saddens me to the core all the time but we write them as a way of paying homage to fallen celebrities we've grown to know and love (even if it is only in our heads.) The actor, Michael Clarke Duncan departed from Earth on September 3rd following the circumstances of a heart attacked he suffered earlier this year on July 13th. Michael Clarke Duncan has had numerous film and television roles playing such characters as body guards or some kind of intimidating figure. His most noted roles have been The Green Mile, The Whole Nine Yards, Armageddon, Daredevil and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins.

On July 13, 2012, Duncan was taken to a hospital after suffering a heart attack. The media reports suggested that his girlfriend, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, had previously tried to sve his life by performing CPR. Duncan's publicist, Joy Fehily, issued a statement on August 6 that read he was moved from the Intensive Care Unit but remained hospitalized following his heart attack.
On September 3, Fehily quoted Manigault as saying that Duncan had died in Los Angeles. He added that celebrations of Duncan's life would be announced at a later date. The statement also, for the first time, described Omarosa as Duncan's fiancee.

Our deepest condolences go out to Omarosa as well as Michael Clarke Duncan's family and friends. He is a face that we will definitely miss on the big screen but we will always remember him.

Rest in Paradise Neil Armstrong

Today, America weeps another. Today, the FIRST man on the moon, Neil Armstrong has passed away. What makes this story even more sad to tell is the fact that Armstrong just turned 82 years old on August 5th and on the 7th, he underwent  surgery to relieve blocked coronary arteries. He died today from complications of his surgery earlier this month.

A statement from his family says: "Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."

Rest in Paradise: Ron Palillo aka TV's Horshack

The television show 'Welcome Back, Kotter' was popular in the mid to late 1970's. It starred actors, John Travolta, Gabe Kaplan, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Ron Palillo and Robert Hegyes. My mother used to watch the program and she in turn introduced me to it and I too fell in love with the show (and both John Travolta and Lawrence Hilton Jacobs :)) Which is why it hurts me to write this post..

At about 4 a.m. this morning, actor Ron Palillo suffered an apparent heart attack at his home and could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. He was 63 years old.

For those of you who aren't familiar with who Ron Palillo is, he played the character Arnold Horshack on the TV 'Welcome Back, Kotter' where one of his catchphrases was ""Oooh, oooh" as he'd throw his hand up in the air whenever a teacher asked a question.

Rest in Paradise, Ron Palillo, your memory will live on in the heart and minds of your fans. We love you

Rest in Paradise

The Babbling Bee's are sad to say, we woke up late last night/early this morning to the news of yet another celebrity's passing... Yvette Wilson who you may all know as Andell Wilkerson of the hit TV shows, Moesha and The Parkers has lost her battle with cervical cancer and is no longer with us. Via her The Parkers co-star, Ken L's Facebook page, he reached out to the fans to give us the news.
"My co-star Yvette Wilson transitioned today.
She was a very talented, and nurturing figure in my life.
Her physical presence will be missed. R.I.P. Loved One... :/"
-via Kenneth Lawson's personal Facebook page

Yvette was not only battling cancer, she was also suffering from problems with her kidneys and was in need of a kidney transplant. Her friend Jeffrey Pittle created a website so that people could donate money to help with her medical expenses (medical bills and assistance with transportation costs.) The website raised 56% of the $25,000 needed.

While we write this post to give you all the news, we also share this with you so that you can all take heed. Cancer of any kind does not target one specific type of person or group of people. So do your part and call up your doctor, schedule an appointment and know your history. It could be the difference between life and death.
